MSTS Education Programme
With great success, the Postgraduate Programme in Marine Science, Technology, and Society by NOVA School of Science and Technology (NOVA SST) was launched on the last 6th, at the NOVA SST Library Auditorium, Campus de Caparica (Portugal), with all partners and guests, promoting an intellectual and affective meeting.
This Postgraduation course is supported by the Project: Marine Science, Technology, and Society Education Programme, financed by the EEA Financial mechanism 2014-2021, the Programme “Blue Growth” between the Financial Mechanism Committee established by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway and Portugal.
Filled with a diversified program, the public launch was presented by the coordinator Professor Marta Martins and was attended by distinguished representatives of each partnership, namely: Professor Júlia Seixas from the Department of Environmental Sciences and Engineering at NOVA School of Science and Technology – host institution, Doctor Narcisa Bandarra from the Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere and Professor Vahid Hassani from Oslo Metropolitan University – both direct partners of the project, as well as Doctor Cátia Marques from the Programming and Monitoring Division of the National Unit for the Management of Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area (EEA Grants – Portugal) – promotion institution.
The students of the 1st edition of MSTS postgraduate Course and the professors engaged with the course and several guests also attended this event, which culminated with the seminar of the guest speaker, Professor Manuel Pinto de Abreu who, brilliantly, presented the theme Ocean Building Blocks: Science, Technology and Society.
As a day dedicated to MSTS launches, the Marine Science, Technology, and Society Educational Programme website has its public recognition at the end of the event. A big day!
