António Marques is biologist graduated at the Faculty of Sciences, Lisbon University, and has a PhD from Ghent University, Belgium. He is Senior Researcher at the Portuguese Institute for the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA). He has expertise in seafood quality and safety and in leadership positions at EU projects (coordinator: H2020 SEAFOODTOMORROW, FP7 ECsafeSEAFOOD, FP6 RISKFOODCONT WP leader: ACRUNET, SEA_ON_A_CHIP) and Portuguese programs.
