Short Bio:
Vahid Hassani is vice dean of research & development and professor of Robotics and Control at Faculty of Technology, Art and Design (TKD), Oslo Metropolitan University (OsloMet). Before joining OsloMet in 2019, he was an (adjunct) associate professor in the Department of Marine Technology, NTNU, where he was active in teaching and supervising master and PhD candidates. He is also a senior research scientist at SINTEF Ocean, formerly known as the Norwegian Marine Technology Research Institute (MARINTEK). His research interests are spread in many fields of marine control and robotics, including remotely operated vehicles, autonomous systems, ocean sampling, unmanned ships, dynamic positioning, the design of ride control systems for high-speed vessels and surface effect ships, and the virtual prototyping of marine systems and operations.
